SOLD Andrew Mason Small Green Baluster Vase 20th C.
£42.00 inc. tax
Small baluster vase green and lustre glaze 14cm tall. Made by contemporary British ceramicist Andrew Mason, born 1962, a member of the Craft Potters Association.
This small vase is an early piece from the start of his professional career with an early version of his mark.
The form has been thrown and then turned to create a very precise profile. There is a small step on the shoulder which very cleverly holds the green glaze. The effect is that the very high gloss glaze is accentuated though showing a gradation of intensity. This high gloss is then balanced and complimented by a lustre glaze applied to the top rim and inside.
A cleverly made small piece showing an attention to technical detail.
