SOLD French hard paste tea bowl 1820
£45.00 inc. tax
A fabulous and unusual hemispherical tea bowl of small size.
It is made from a fine white hard paste body and I believe it is most proably early 19th century French.
Hard paste and soft paste production alternated in France with Sevres originally making soft paste and then moving to hard paste at the end of the 18th early 19th century.
After the revolution there was a taste for the whimsical, and it is possible that this bowl was made during this period in the early 19th century.
A lovely object with very finely painted decoration.
