An exquisite Wedgwood Black Basalt bowl with relief moulded vine decoration around the rim.
A design classic. So simple, yet the dry matt surface of the black basalt has a wonderful patina which the moulding around the lip just accentuates.
With a san-serif WEDGWOOD stamp making it was most likely produced in the 1930's.
Makers marks:
Incised marks "WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND" plus potters and decorators marks.
