Worcester Tea Pot c.1770
An absolutely classic Worcester porcelain tea pot from around 1770 decorated with the very popular "Chinese Family" pattern.
Very finely potted and in excellent condition with cover topped with a tear drop shaped finial.
The pattern is well painted showing a table upon which is a bowl of fruit and a vase with flowers.
Sitting at the table is a man drinks tea, a woman stands behind him.
To the left there are two more women, one holding a tray with two cups on it, a child clutching at her skirt and the other looks on, a heart shaped fan under her arm.
This pattern is repeated on both sides.
The spout is decorated with a small plant pot and a flowering plant growing from it, while the handle is augmented with a simple red flourish.
The cover is also decorated with elements from the same pattern.
The edge of the cover is picked out with a pattern consisting of dots, a wavey red line and gilding. This pattern is also around the neck of the pot.
A classic Worcester tea pot in very fine condition.
